Truth or Dare (2013) Film Review

Truth or Dare (2013)
Director: Jessica Cameron
Writers: Jessica Cameron and Jonathan Scott Higgins
Starring: Jessica Cameron, Ryan Kiser, Heather Dorff, Shelby Stehlin, Devanny Pinn, Brandon Van Vliet, and Jesse Wilson.

A Small Town Girl Productions

Special Thanks to Jessica Cameron for allowing Scary Business Entertainment to screen such a phenomenal film.

Plot:
It’s not just a game anymore… After a group of young adults release a fake “Russian Roulette” viral video that hits it big, their fans ask for more. In their second “fake” viral video, things go wrong when their #1 fan decides to make his own rules.

This movie cultivates some of the greatest death scenes in recent memory. The movie tests your stomach with some of the most gut-wrenching gore imaginable (This comes from the guy that loved “August Underground Mordum” and other gore fests). Although not all the actors in this movie are household names, I have a feeling that many of them will be hitting it big after this film. Jessica Cameron is a true “Scream Queen” in every sense, and her character evolves as the “game” goes on. Heather Dorff and Devanny Pinn are talented and beautiful actresses and give a hell of a performance. Shelby, Brandon, and Jesse give great support in this twisted feature, but I think the real star was the “Mansonesque” of Ryan Kiser. Ryan’s character of Derek is a twisted, fame obsessed fan that gives what could be, villain of the year.

Notes:
-This movie should be sold in every outlet imaginable. This is a true gem for horror and gore lovers!
-This film has a lot of twisted and dark scenes including the subjects of incest, hermaphrodites, rape, child abuse, abortions, and many more that may be unsuitable for some viewers. Most of these are just back stories in the film, but may bother some viewers.
-The death scenes are amazing in this film, and Jessica Cameron and Jonathan Scott Higgins' vision tests the capacity of the viewer.

Overall: 5.5 out of 6 Skulls
“One of the most disturbing yet enjoyable horror films I have seen in years. This is a “must own”, not just a “must watch” film.”  –D. Mack
